I tried to divide my creeping phlox & ended up with one piece without roots. How do I get roots to grow?

Place the piece without roots into a glass jar filled with water. Keep it in a sunny window and roots should begin to develop within a week or two.

Reply:you need to used a 5ft. shovel, and dig them out in basketball size clumps , then go back and fill the hole , next year they will have filled that back in.
