Are We Creeping Towards A Society Where Violence Is Acceptable...?

Given all the stories seen on here, I think we are and well done to David Cameron on highlighting this whilst the Home Secretary is content to bury her head in the sand. What do you think? Who's right, who's wrong?

Britain is "creeping" towards a state where violence is socially acceptable, Conservative leader David Cameron has warned in a speech.

He said aggression was being "feted" - as illustrated by the use of mobile phones to film people being beaten up.

He called for a "relentless focus" on low level disorder and a crackdown on knife and gun crime.

Home Secretary Jacqui Smith accused him of "alarmist rhetoric" and said crime was down by a third since 1997.

Are We Creeping Towards A Society Where Violence Is Acceptable...?
As frightening as it seems I am afraid that we are. The more something happens or you are subjected to it every day through the media it becomes the norm!

Of course although the Government talks tough on it, that's exactly all they do. The Police have been tired up with red tape and form filling and when they do bring some toerag to justice the lawlords seem fit to dish out a paltry sentence, because our prison's are crowded don't you know so we must dish out more non-custodial sentences.

Killed someone while drunk? - 4 months probation, picking up litter in the local park!!!!!

-Next!!!

Kow: Wake up! The tories have been out of power for over ten years!! how can you blame them, typical Labour desease - Blame the tories for OUR mismanagement!!
Reply:We are not creeping LordA,

We are now walking, then it will be jogging etc,

Take away the persona that crime pays, and criminals are hero's,show them for what they are, and punish them with severity,

start a build more prisons first instead of houses campaign,

export all foreign criminals no matter what.
Reply:Welcome to America where violence reigns in our urban centers, in our rural domestic homes, on our television screens and in our government policies. We hope you enjoy your stay.
Reply:wow, you know what i find funny.the fact that you have taken peoples guns and nothing has changed ,now just the criminals have guns.or the estates that allow you to hunt.they did outlaw fox hunting to right? funny your watched everywhere also and people are now starting to use there phones to invade your privacy more.what's going on with the uk since you have turned to socialism?this is just crazy.
Reply:Actually, crime in the UK has been eliminated, except for that which occurs on a daily basis. Knifing is down by 100% or would be if people stopped stabbing each other and the word murder has fallen into disuse after several decades without an occurence. Taxes are almost non-existent and Peter Hain has no case to answer. Statistics prove er
Reply:I blame the Tories.
Reply:Yes we know
Reply:You really are becoming the United States........... I guess we never fully disconnected and now the virus is back tracking, sorry...

but it would seem that violence is endemic for us westerners..at some point our emotional quotient was subjugated by our violent "ID" and has been playing catch up ever since ...

I blame Capitalism in the US... not sure what to make of it across the pond?
Reply:And, once again, Thank you Labour, and your Scottish Leaders hell bent on destroying everything that was England, you have succeeded.
Reply:Have we all forgotten the poll tax riots conserative party i do believe, the recession that followed the tories reign and what the tories truly stand for.
