Why isnt he Creeping?

The twins i babysit for are six monthes and the girl is trying to creep but the boy isnt. Is that nomal and how old will they be when they start or try to crawl?

Why isnt he Creeping?
Different babies develop at different rates. It doesn't mean anything is wrong. For instance, some children walk at 9 months, some don't walk until 15 months, but they all end up walking in the end. As long as he is functioning in the developmentally appropriate range, than he is fine. And it is FINE that he isn't creeping. 6 months is early for creeping - just means your daughter is a bit ahead of the curve, your son is not behind! Dont worry.
Reply:girls learn things more quickly than boys and are more motivated to learn new things. probably in the next couple months they should be crawling.
Reply:Honey, all babies are very different...even twins. At six months old, most babies are just starting to really sit up on their own let alone trying to scoot or crawl!! The average age these days for actual crawling is between 8 and 12 months. Most babies are starting to try to scoot by the time they're 7-8 months old...some don't even think about trying to move until they're closer to 10 months old. Also, it is not uncommon for one twin to move before the other one (sometimes there can be a gap of 2 months or more between them in fact!). The only thing to worry about is that they're growing well, and that they're being engaged in play that will facilitate learning. Make sure they both get plenty of time down on the floor on their tummies (try to entice them both to become mobile by placing a few fun rattles or other colorful toys just out of reach...you may be surprised at just how quickly they figure out how to reach those toys!!) Most importantly, make them feel safe by being close by and helping them reach what they want when they start to feel too frustrated.
