How old was your baby when she started to creep, how long after did she crawl?
Creeping/Crawling Babies?
I used to work at a daycare and we saw it at all ages. I had a child who was 15 months and just refused to try to walk. She crawled everywhere. One day she just stood up and walked. I also had a child who, at 9 months, would try to scoot for the longest time unsuccesfully, then began to 1/2 walk with one leg straight and the other kind of dragging to catch up and using her hands as balance. Six to seven months is not too young to begin to try to scoot, and from the time they begin to scoot, it doesn't usually take too long to being full out crawling. Also, some babies just don't crawl. Doctors are saying that since "lay babies on their backs to sleep" became the norm, many babies dislike being on their bellies and in turn, choose to skip the crawling phase.
Reply:My daughter was 6 months whenshe strted "army" crawling and within two weeks she was crawling normal.
Reply:Sat up at 6 months or so, started to creep and crawl (first rocked back and forth on hind legs) at 7 1/2 months. Walked at a year and a week.
Reply:My daughter is 3.5 months and rolling around. Sometimes she creeps backward now, though she had been creeping forward for a few weeks.
I have a crazy active little one, though. from the responses you already have, you can see this is very dependent on the baby! In fact, some babies never really crawl. They find other creative ways of getting around before walking.
Whatever works, so long as she is using both sides of her body equally well.
Reply:My grandson sat up at 5 months...rolled around the floor at 7 months...crawled at 9 months. He never creeped. He wants to walk and gets on his knees in a kneeling position to play. I expect to see him shuffling about on his knees any day!!
Reply:I'm still waiting and mine is 9 months tomorrow. He rolls all over the place and pushes himself backwards but no desire to actually lift up and crawl.
Reply:My little guy started rocking when he was about 4 months old and crawling at 5 1/2. It really depends on the baby.
